Japan Street Fashion

Japan Street Fashion does not just originate in Tokyo. It can start anywhere in Japan and be started by virtually anyone with a following.

Street fashion is not restricted to Harajuku. Unique styles have originated in other parts of Japan including Osaka.

Visual Kei is a style that some J-Pop bands dress in. Their fans do as well. Visual Kei means--visual style of music. Their fashion sense and their music harks back to 80s rock. This is also known as costume play or cosplay.

Lolita Fashion started in Osaka, and is influenced by Victorian era and gothic fashion. Lolita is all about being young and cute. Performers who dress like this, influence their fans who also emulate their style.
